Job Description:

Credit Portfolio Management plays an essential and centralized front office portfolio reporting role within the global TD Securities Corporate and investment Banking (CIB) Credit and works closely with partners across the bank including CIB Credit, Credit Origination, Syndications, Credit Risk Management, Corporate Lending Operations, Credit Risk Policy & Reporting, Capital Markets Risk Management, Finance and Technology. The successful candidate will work with the Credit Portfolio Management team on various day-to-day activities, reporting and analysis as well as ad hoc projects impacting the broader TD Securities Corporate Banking business.

Job Description:

  • The successful candidate will be part of the TD Securities Toronto CIB Credit team and will be responsible for: Market Data Monitoring – produce daily reports of Credit Default Swaps (CDS) spreads as well as trigger reports on equity, bond, and CDS pricing for borrowers within the TDS Corporate Lending portfolio

  • Bloomberg Research – assist credit management coverage teams with charting CDS peer spreads, yields, looking up commodity price forecasts, earnings estimates, etc. for inclusion in credit reviews

  • Policy Tracking - produce monthly reporting of credit exposures against credit risk policy limits and flag relevant details to the senior management where appropriate (high risk, leveraged loans, group exposure, underwritings)

  • Specialized Portfolio Tracking – produce reporting to meet various business initiatives/requirements (sustainable credit facilities, securitizations, etc.)

  • Management Reporting and Ad Hoc Analysis - prepare informative quarterly decks for senior management to track portfolio trends, risk, and exposures; conduct additional portfolio analysis and research as requested by senior management

  • Hedging and Portfolio Optimization Activities - work with CIB Credit and the Global Credit Trading desk to execute CDS trades for credit protection; assist with other hedging and portfolio optimization initiatives and projects

  • Loan Capital Committee (LCC) – host LCC meetings, provide meeting minutes, and provide oversight/administration as secretary to the Loan Capital Committee

  • Compliance and Audit - manage and coordinate audit inquiries and requests on behalf of CIB Credit, including yearly audits, pRCSA reviews, annual OSFI AIRB self-assessment

  • Process Improvements and Projects – continuously work on process improvements and work with the technology/business innovation teams and other parts of the bank as needed

Job Requirements:

  • A highly motivated, proactive and organized individual who takes ownership of assignments and has exceptional problem-solving skills

  • An understanding of or experience with corporate banking credit products (Revolvers and Term Loans); credit hedging tools (CDS, Non-Payment Insurance, etc); securitizations.

  • Experience with projects in a corporate setting, working groups, and special initiatives

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and work under pressure with tight time sensitive timelines and competing priorities

  • Experience manipulating and analyzing large raw data sets to drive reporting and create insights, summaries and dashboards

  • Experience with preparing presentation decks in PowerPoint for senior management and/or corporate clients

  • Advanced Excel capabilities, model building, modifying macros and writing VBA

  • Understanding of relational databases, SQL, Access, Alteryx

  • Previous experience with Bloomberg and Capital IQ for research purposes

  • Business/Finance University Degree

  • CFA designation or pursuit of one

  • 2-3+ years at a Financial Institution
