What You’ll Be Doing

The Securitization & Structured Products Administration Group provides operational support for the Canadian Securitization Group of CIBC’s Wholesale Banking, and administers approx. $20 billion in assets for this business line. SSPA currently employs eighteen staff across various functional groups with a dedicated MIS team of IT professionals that provide ongoing support in all aspects of our securitization systems.

The successful applicant will perform a key role in the Securitization and Structured Products Administration (SSPA) team in support of the Canadian Securitization business. This team is responsible for a variety of key functions including:

  • Establishment of new securitization conduits;

  • Operationalize new securitization transactions;

  • Day-to-day administration of all CP and MTN funded programs;

  • Monthly cash settlement and pool monitoring of all securitization programs;

  • Regular reporting to rating agencies, investors and internal management reporting;

  • Preparing internal credit renewal applications for securitization programs and conduits;

  • Liaise with all levels of staff within SSPA, internal risk management group, front office structuring teams, money market desk, derivatives desk, middle office and payments processing group.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Governance : You’ll review and/or assist in the setup of new securitization conduits. You will be responsible for operationalizing new securitization transactions;

  • Reporting & Reconciliation: You’ll develop and/or review the setup of monthly pool reports and settlement models for new securitization transactions; ensure that pool reports and settlement models reflect the requirements of the program’s legal documentation; prepare or review monthly reporting to rating agencies, investors and internal management reporting; prepare or review daily funding requirements, daily cash reconciliations, monthly transaction cash settlements, pool monitoring of all securitization programs;

  • Relationship Management: You’ll develop and maintain strong relationships with securitization clients and front office structuring team to ensure a clear understanding of the administration requirements and ensure timely and effective resolution of issues that may arise. You’ll liaise and work alongside all functional groups within SSPA and participate as an active member of the team;

  • Projects: You’ll participate in special projects from time to time, as required.

Who You Are:

  • You can demonstrate 2-3 years experience working in financial services and have knowledge of Capital Markets.

  • You have a degree in Business/Economics/Finance/Accounting

  • You’re digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends. Good knowledge of PC applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
