Guidehouse Audit Manager, CPA - Managing Consultant in Topeka, Kansas

What You Will Do :

  • Provide strategic guidance and technical assistance on financial and compliance audit and remediation efforts

  • Advise clients on compliance issues, assessing audit risks and controls, providing recommendations on compliance and control solutions

  • Direct, review and develop analysis including detailed, and potentially, complex issues

  • Supervise and conduct data gathering activities including document review and quality control of performance audit workpapers

  • Daily responsibility for project team activities, high-quality project deliverables, and client relationship management

  • Identify and proactively address client needs by presenting potential solutions to challenges or issues

  • Participates in compliance monitoring, audit, and other program assessment activities as need

  • Ensures timely response & resolution to identified issues; provides responses to clients’ inquiries

  • Supervise and motivate a team of senior consultants and consultant professionals.

  • Support outgoing communication, audit documentation and remedial actions development

  • Effectively and concisely communicate and present information to client and leadership

  • Develop high-quality presentations which effectively communicate key objectives and facilitate discussion across multiple stakeholders

  • Develop and ensure quality deliverables

  • Maintain security and privacy of all data handled

What You Will Need :

  • Minimum 10 years of experience

  • Active CPA license

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Health Information, or other relevant field of study

  • Previous experience leading audit engagements

  • Ability to complete quality reviews of assigned tasks

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAAP & GAGAS)

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret client business needs and translate them into tangible documents and/or deliverables

  • Ability to reach conclusions based on audit evidence

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Ability to identify and address client needs

  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft Suite, including MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others

  • Ability to organize, perform, and track multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment

  • Must be a US citizen

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • Experience in quality reviewing staff work and give effective feedback

  • Previous experience leading audit engagements in the federal practice

  • Knowledge of Yellow Book requirements, Financial Audit Manual (FAM) and Performance Audit requirements.

  • Ability to research and keep up to date with client programs (e.g., HHS programs)

  • Relevant certification such as Certified Government Financial Management (CGFM), Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

  • Demonstrates proven abilities to work successfully as a team member: understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback; providing guidance, clarification, and feedback to others

The annual salary range for this position is $98,400.00-$196,900.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
