About the Position: Serves as the Program Manager over manufacturing activities and recognized as a functional expert in planning, program management, and directing functions necessary for the effective and efficient accomplishment of the Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) Ammunition Peculiar Equipment (APE) and manufacturing missions. Responsibilities Exercise delegated managerial authority to set a series of annual and multiyear work plans and associated schedules. Coordinate the development of workload requirements and workload priorities with other agencies, depots, higher headquarters, and Product Director offices. Integrate the projections of specific projects, workload distribution, and implementation of new methods and management improvements with the total plan. Subject matter expert in ensuring the availability of equipment, materials, and other resources to accomplish work. Oversee the identification of, planning for, resourcing, and implementation of management actions to develop and acquire information to operate, install, and maintain needed equipment to maximize its effectiveness and availability. Collaboratively engage in and leverage the systems engineering process to impact the design from its inception throughout the life cycle. Provide direction through division chiefs for the technical, professional, mechanical, and administrative functions of the Directorate. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating work operations involved in the design, development, manufacturing and procurement of ammunition equipment. Evaluating workload requirements and schedules and implementing measures to enhance the efficiency and quality of work performed. Evaluate production schedules and operating procedures and recommend change in procedures or manpower to meet workload requirements and schedules. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Manages Resources Program Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One-year probationary period may be required. One-year supervisory probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
