Summary: Responsible for the pumicing and polishing of appliances according to Great Lakes Dental Technologies procedures and standards.

Department: Laboratory

Functions: Pumice and Polish

Supervisor: Manager of Laboratory Operations 2nd Level: VP of Operations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent to the job.

Perform precision polishing and pumicing of various orthodontic appliances, to achieve a smooth finish. Use a variety of abrasive materials, compounds, and polishing agents to remove imperfections, scratches, and irregularities from dental prosthetics' surfaces. Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed and materials used. Checks products due dates and prioritizes work by completing work in order due. Completes assigned processes according to Great Lakes standards and time constraints. Performs Quality checks on product. Regularly clean, maintain laboratory workspace. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs. Performs assigned work functions as production requires. Remains current and adheres to all safety and occupational health policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements to Hire:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. No previous education or experience required. Demonstrate good interpersonal skills. Demonstrate teambuilding skills. Detail-oriented with excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Demonstrate understanding of and ability to follow directions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to producing high-quality results.

Other skills and Abilities: Reasoning Ability: Ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Ability to review data, draw conclusions and make suggestions based on data.
