This job consists of driving agricultural equipment and/or delivering products to fields in support of the agricultural equipment operator both done on a farm for a farmer. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions into agricultural equipment. Fill tanks with water, chemicals, and fertilizer according to formulas and take the tanks to the farm sites. Operate machines such as agricultural sprayers or fertilizer spreaders to fertilize and spray crops. Apply crop nutrient or crop protection products to control insects, fungus, weed growth, and diseases, to assist in the cultivation of agricultural commodities using agricultural equipment. Spread dry fertilizer using GPS-enabled agricultural equipment. Workers will drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. CDLs are not required for this position but will be available to be obtained by the worker at the cost of Growmark, Inc. Manipulate controls, nozzles, hoses, and tubes to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery to direct product over designated areas. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Workers will also operate agricultural equipment such as tractors, excavators, and forklifts to load and unload products and apply crop-protectant products and ammonia. During downtime, workers must assist in regular facility/equipment maintenance, keep good accounts of inventory, and report when items need replenishing. Workers will move inventory as necessary to make it accessible for use in the field. Follows GROWMARK s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. GROWMARK will comply with the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act by offering temporary and seasonal workers to earn paid time off (PTO) at one hour for every 40 hours worked, with a maximum of 40 hours per year. Employees must work a minimum of 90 days before receiving their accrued time. (only specific to certain states) Follows GROWMARK s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. GROWMARK offers medical coverage to temporary workers after they complete 1,560 work hours in a calendar year in compliance with the Affordable Care Act. Once the Temporary worker becomes eligible, they will have 30 days to elect or decline medical coverage online. There are three high-deductible health plan options available; depending on the coverage level elected, the worker would be responsible for their portion of the monthly medical insurance premium rate of \$33.42 (Essential Plan), \$151.61 (Balanced Plan), or \$199.83 (Select Plan). In addition, there is an additional monthly surcharge of \$50.00 if the employee is a tobacco user or chooses not to disclose. Please note the premiums totals above are per month through payroll deduction, which is two paychecks each month. Temporary workers \' pay dates are bi-weekly on Thursdays. Rates and plan options are subject to change annually. Further, all employees are immediately eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan upon hire. If the employee does not indicate their deduction through our vendor, Fidelity Investment\'s website, they will be automatically enrolled after 45 days at a 5% pre-tax contribution rate. Instructions for enrolling or making contribution changes are provided upon hire. 401(k) contributions are taken pre-tax through payroll deduction. Pay dates are bi-weekly on Thursdays for temporary workers.
