Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws. • Read production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used to be compliant with customer specifications relative to dimensions and tolerances. • Load work pieces into machines. • Operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal material. • Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data • Verify and document dimensions of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, including but not limited to calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators. • Assist Die-Setter in completing simple to intermediate tasks associated with coil and die changes. • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. • Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear. • Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above. Operate and tend machines to weld or perform mechanical clinching on metal pieces. Weld operators will: • Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws. • Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of welds, nuts, pems, or other additions. • Load work pieces into machines. • Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data. • Stop production if unsafe parts, actions or poor quality conditions exist Openings available on all shifts: 1st shift 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. 2nd shift 2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. 3rd shift 10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.
