ProMedica Health System MA / Medical Assistant - Pediatric Behavioral Intensive Outpatient Program - Full Time - Days in Toledo, Ohio
Functions as a member of the clinic staff. Assists physicians and nurses in routine and specialized patient care tasks. Maintains center supplies. Supports the practice by utilizing his/her clinical knowledge and expertise in a clerical capacity such as registration, scheduling, data management and patient calls.
ACCOUNTABILITIES All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise
Performs basic patient care preparation, preliminary patient observations and documentation to facilitate the flow of patients in the clinic setting.
Communication/documentation of all patient and office information accurately and completely to the appropriate parties and charts following HIPAA guidelines.
Accurate patient registration and scheduling per clinic guidelines including completion of clinic work queues.
Effective use of supplies including inventory, ordering, and restocking.
Appropriate use of infection control practices, regulatory and hospital guidelines, and policies.
Use patient centered care concepts to provide a positive experience for patients and coworkers.
Promote teamwork to assist providers and peers in the clinic with patient care and clinical procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned by the office manager. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Medical Assistant training or equivalent clinical experience
Skills: Computer and Communication skills. Must have strong organizational, computer and communication skills. Must keep patient information confidential as required by HIPAA and other research related requirements.
Certification: Must obtain MA certificate withing 60 days of hire. CPR
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Years of Experience: 1-2 years previous experience in a medical office setting
