Financial Recovery Group Team Leader:
This position will have a primary focus of servicing Government Guaranteed loans including SBA and USDA. Provides leadership to a team of Financial Recovery representatives in commercial loan workout efforts for Criticized and/or Classified and/or Non-Performing Commercial and/or Industrial loans and/or Business Banking Collections and/or Commercial Real Estate loans and/or OREO properties as appropriate. Provides guidance and recommendations to the Financial Recovery representatives for implementation or strategic action plans that achieve risk mitigation, account resolution objectives and agreed time frames for exposures managed by the team. Directs and assures the prudent collection of charged-off loans, optimal engagement of outside legal counsel, and such other activities as may be required.
Detailed Description:
Engage team members to develop strategies to minimize losses in a commercial loan portfolio. Responsibilities include delivering colleague reviews, portfolio management in Business Banking by identifying appropriate ratings, accrual status and losses, address workout scenarios, and communicate data driven results to upper management in a time sensitive environment. Work with team members to cure past due loan payments, negotiate restructures, settlements, address defensive litigation matters, and customer complaints. In addition, this position will work with Business Banking Regional Credit Officers, the Business Loan Center underwriting teams, Business Bankers, and other internal partners to manage borrowing relationships, while line-managed or in process of transitioning to FRG.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Seven or more years in commercial default management
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
Must have strong communication skills and should be comfortable working with large data sets.
Previous experience in management of direct reports preferred.
Experience underwriting commercial loans and/or structuring commercial loans.
Must have strong understanding of the SBA Standard Operating Procedure as it relates to problem loan management.
Adhere to both Huntington and FRG Policy and Procedures. Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Prefer knowledge of US Bankruptcy laws.
Ability to negotiate settlements, workouts and sale of collateral while adhering to state and federal regulations.
Prefer experience with Real Estate Foreclosure process.
Ability to multi-task on a variety of projects and reporting requests.
IT system skills/capabilities with previous knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word, and previous experience with AFS / Velocity / RETS / CARS / CRRS.
