Controls Engineer Job Locations US-OH-Toledo ID 2025-3163 Category Engineering Type Full Time Overview SSOE is seeking a talented Controls Engineer looking to continue to develop their skills within the consulting environment. At SSOE our Controls Engineers fulfill project leadership roles designing and delivering highly visible automation projects for our very diverse list of Clients and Markets. This position will require close coordination with our Project Mangers, Discipline Captains, our Clients, and SSOE's Multi-Discipline Project Teams to meet Quality requirements, Client expectations, and project schedules. Responsibilities A Typical Day Might Include: Lead efforts for the development of Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls design and construction packages. Develop/Define Automation and Programming Requirements for PLC Based Systems. Design Automation Systems including Control System Networks. Develop/Coordinate the Development of PLC and HMI Software to meet Project Requirements Assist SSOE's Process Team in support of P&ID development and associated Cost Estimates Develop MCC One Lines and Electrical Control Schematics Develop and maintain instrument index. Specify Process Instrumentation to meet process requirements. Develop loop diagrams and other instrument wiring drawings. Develop and apply instrument installation details. Design Control Panels including associated field wiring and raceways. Interface with client and SSOE team to coordinate design activities. Checking and technical assurance of drawings, specifications and programming. Startup, checkout and commissioning. Qualifications Qualifications You'll Need on Day One: Bachelor Degree in Engineering which qualifies for licensure is required. Electrical Engineering preferred. EIT preferred with a minimum one (1) year experience with SSOE as an Engineer 1, or the same educational requirements as above with two (2) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s). PLC / HMI Programming required. DCS Programming a Plus. MicroStation / AutoCAD Experience. Self-starter with a positive attitude Proficient in Microsoft Applications. Strong Communication Skills. Ability to work and communicate remotely in an independent and team-oriented environment. Valid driver's license required. Salary Range: $70,000-80,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
