Amazon Senior Marketing Manager, Global Workforce Staffing in Tokyo, Japan

Description

Workforce Staffing Marketing is looking for a customer-obsessed, agile Senior Marketing Manager to develop and optimize integrated marketing strategies, and execute campaigns focused on application generation, lead acquisition and funnel-conversion to effectively fill labor orders for Warehouse Associate roles across Japan.

In this strategic and tactical role, you will be the main point of contact for our English and Japanese-speaking business stakeholders and central marketing teams based in Europe and the US. Analyzing metrics such as; app:hire ratio, fill rate, funnel drop out, Marketing Cost Per Application (MCPA), Marketing Cost Per Hire (MCPH), Cost per Click (CPC) and Adobe Analytics, you will use data to drive strategic decision making. Diving deep on the root cause of recruitment challenges and successes, you will earn stakeholder trust through your deep understanding of Japan’s labor market, audience insights and through consistently taking ownership and driving results.

Working as an individual contributor, you will work with the Performance Marketing and Journey Orchestration teams to provide an integrated marketing approach. Utilizing a diverse marketing mix of both paid and organic channels, such as; Paid Search, Display, Social, Job Boards, OOH, Email/SMS Campaigns, LINE, events and partnerships. You will help to build project plans, manage deadlines and working with the Performance Management team, ensure that media plans are adequately monitored and optimized to meet labor demand fill rate, increase applications and reduce marketing cost per application and hire.

In partnership with the global, US-based creative team and local creative agency and field team, you will be responsible for ensuring that creative and messaging used in advertising adequately promotes and represents the value proposition offered to Amazon Associates in Japan, to drive improved candidate conversion and quality of hire. Working with internal teams such as; Marketing Engine and Launch teams, you will be the main POC for all marketing deliverables required for new site launches and new technology products and roll-outs.

You will possess a strong recruitment marketing background and a demonstrated ability to see the bigger picture and be able to execute rapidly. You will have experience in collaborating with cross-functional and global stakeholders, tracking market factors and changes in hourly candidate behavior, to identify appropriate sourcing and marketing levers to build top of funnel demand and effectively and efficiently attract hourly candidates.

Key job responsibilities

  • Plan, execute and manage candidate-facing multi-channel campaigns across Japan to achieve key performance metric goals, ensuring application delivery stays on schedule and campaigns launch according to business need

  • Analyze application performance data to evaluate appropriate marketing direction to fill labor orders and solve for the business

  • Partner with Performance Marketing team and Media Agencies for campaign planning and buying, ensure efficiency through optimization

  • Act as Marketing Evangelist towards business stakeholders to build awareness, drive adoption, articulate tradeoffs, and communicate Marketing initiatives, plans and progress to (senior) executives

  • Partner with Performance Marketing and Analytics teams to inform and support the launch of new tech and product features ensuring they’re fit for purpose

  • Dive deep into business needs to understand pain points, recruitment, engagement and retention challenges and any opportunities for improvement that can help to inform the overall marketing strategy

  • Build structure and approach to ambiguous and complex business problems and translate into actionable insights, recommendations and plans (road maps) for the business

  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize sites and labor orders that require marketing to deliver applications

  • Work with Performance Marketing, Journey Orchestration, Creative Services and other Marketing departments to create sourcing and acquisition plans to fill weekly labor orders as efficiently as possible

  • Work with Candidate Generation and field teams to support and scale hiring events and community engagement initiatives

  • Have a thorough understanding of Japan employment trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry employment developments

  • Be responsible for go-to-market country and site launches

  • Support roll-out of marketing automation, science and technology tools ensuring that they are built with Japan market and stakeholder and candidate needs in mind

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese at a business level or above (N1+)

  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English

  • Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages

  • Proven success delivering results at scale, on time, with minimal direction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners

  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously. And strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas succinctly.
