Who You Are

You may already be in a marketing role today, or your career may have taken a different path in a sales-related, channel program or channel expansion direction – not officially Marketing, but close to it.

You have had experience working in a regional or global role before. This could be in a consumer-facing business or a B2B role, or perhaps a mix of both.

Overall you have at least 10 years’ experience, perhaps in a mix of country, region and global roles.

As a fluent Japanese and English speaker, you are very comfortable working in both a Japanese and ‘western’ cultural context and are able to engage both junior and senior management colleagues and external stakeholders in Japanese or English.

What You Will Do

This is a senior role within our Global Marketing team reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. As such you will engage with some of our most senior leaders on a regular basis and be expected to build relationships across several functions in the organization, including Marketing, Sales, Product Management, Engineering & Development, Service & After-Market. Your role in driving cross-functional discussion and alignment will be critical to setting the specific business context for marketing investments and actions. Additionally, you will also regularly communicate with some of our most important joint-venture partners in helping to manage continued close collaboration, trust and understanding.

Some of the objectives you will be given include:

• Working with regional and country business leaders to drive cross-functional alignment and investment in channel expansion activities – including eCommerce and Large Format Retail• Subsequently working with regional marketing teams to strengthen marketing execution according to agreed channel expansion initiatives, helping them to leverage resources and learning from either the global marketing team or other regional marketing teams• Leading development and execution of global programs to increase engagement and loyalty of HVAC technicians and installers across key markets. This will again involve working cross-functionally and cross-regionally – creating value for this sales channel not just in marketing but across service, training and other functions• Maintaining close working relationships with joint venture partners, helping to protect the integrity of the Hitachi brand in all that we do, and overseeing existing governance processes that support this• Working closely with the CMO to help administer the wider Marketing function through the right cadence of meetings and reviews across the business, and to support management and reporting of budgets – in this you will be assisted by a small team• Helping the CMO to establish more consistent and regular reporting of marketing metrics, based on our different ‘marketing models’ and go to market strategies in different regions

What We Look For

• Minimum 10 years’ experience working in B2C and/or B2B channel development, marketing or sales roles• At least 5 years experience in regional or global roles• Experience within HVAC or Building Services industry is ideal, not essential. More important is to demonstrate a clear understanding of multi-channel business management• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity AND practical action; we are looking for somebody who can ‘think’ but equally somebody who can act and get things done• You enjoy working across teams and see yourself as someone who helps to bring teams together rather than work in silos• This is a global role based in Japan or Singapore• Fluency in Japanese and English is required. Mandarin is a plus.• At least Bachelor’s degree
