Position Type Management

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will lead all enterprise partnerships and card business in Japan. This role will report to Senior Director, Enterprise Partnership & Cards, APEC and will work in close collaboration with the global corporate office and leadership team within AP and Regional offices.

Key focus areas will include:

Co-brand & points transfer partnerships business

Partnership Development

  • Develop overall card and points transfer growth strategy for the market based on competition mapping, local customer behavior & need areas

  • Research, prospecting, product development, commercial & contractual negotiations for new product launches, in partnership with corporate partnership teams

  • End-to-end cross functional ownership of launching cards and points transfer partnerships

Partnership Management

  • Partner with the issuing bank(s), network partners and corporate teams to own card P&L responsibility

  • Own marketing and branding need of the partnerships in collaboration with cross function teams

  • Manage budget, legal compliance, iT requirements, reporting for Japan cards and points transfer portfolio

Enterprise Partnerships

Partnership Development

  • Develop overall enterprise partnership growth strategy for the market based on competition mapping, local customer behavior & need areas

  • Research, prospecting, customer value prop development, commercial & contractual negotiations for new partnerships

  • End-to-end cross functional ownership of launching enterpise partnerships

  • Develop and manage reporting and financial tracking of strategic partnership activities

  • Develop and manage partner agreements, regulatory requirements, compliance with laws

Partnership Management

  • Build strong relationship with partners to grow partnerships

  • Own marketing and branding need of the partnerships in collaboration with cross function teams

  • Manage budget, legal compliance, iT requirements, reporting for all partnerships

Overarching goals of partnerships team:

  • New revenue stream growth: Develop and grow new revenue streams through innovative partnerships

  • Loyalty Program growth: Expansion of Marriott Bonvoy member footprint in Japan

  • Engagement: Grow partnerships to elevante member experience, program benefits and retention

  • Localization: Localize Marriott International’s loyalty program(s) through in-market partnerships

  • Awareness: Drive visibility of all MI brands & loyalty program in the market

  • Differentiation: Conceptualize and grow partnerships to create differentiation for Marriott International in Japan

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Degree from an accredited university in Business Administration or related area required.

  • 6-8 years of experience in partnership development, activation and/or international consumer marketing

  • In-depth knowledge of co-brand card business will be required

  • Multi-industry partnership development experience will be preferred

  • Experience in managing P&L responsibility of partnerships in Japan will be preferred

  1. Key Skills and Experiences
  • Strong bilingual communication skills – English & Japanese

  • Experience in product development with tech knowledge required

  • Demonstrated ability to run analytics and advanced reporting will be required

  • Demonstrated ability to balance the interests and demands of multiple stakeholders

  • International working experience preferred
