Amazon Program Manager, AMXL JP in Tokyo, Japan

Description

AMXL JP is looking for an experienced Program Manager with a strong record of achieving results, to own and execute high visibility strategic initiatives. This position will be responsible for playing a key role in our program management team to support our quickly growing network within Amazon. You will work cross-functionally and across geographies with stakeholders at all levels to understand and improve large-scale programs and initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to partner closely with multiple functions and teams including delivery station operations, account management, tech, retail and customer service teams. You will be responsible for acting quickly to solve immediate challenges, while also using good judgement to plan program changes that will deliver long term benefits. We are looking for a candidate who can manage multiple large-scale projects, own schedules, outline key milestones, and ensure deliverables are met. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, highly analytical and detail-oriented, possessing solid interpersonal and communication skills, and be comfortable working independently to drive change. The ability to influence others without authority and speed to execution will be critical for success in this role. The ideal candidate possesses a track record of successful relationship management, program and project management, strong analytical and business acumen, and experience managing reporting and analysis. Great communication skills, Bias for action, Delivering results and Thinking big will be essential to your success. The candidate is a self-starter who will take ownership of business problems and do what is needed to get them to successful outcomes.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define business requirements, translate requirements into project plans, manage implementation activities across a large group of stakeholders. Develop and execute rollout plans and provide ongoing support

  • Set priorities and communicating across business partners and stakeholders

  • Set up scalable and reliable ways to measure success as part of every project / launch

  • Engage cross-functionally to ensure we implement the business vision and operational goals efficiently

  • Scale services, tools, and processes that will enable network growth in volume, complexity, and geographic expansion while still maintaining the highest bar for the customer experience

  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks, drive resolution of critical issues, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs and propose corrective actions to keep initiatives moving forward

  • Collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and process excellence; identifying where we have gaps or redundancies; influencing leadership to streamline solutions and define mutually beneficial goals

  • Coordinate with team across various regions and geographies to understand, learn and implement and execute as per the Japan Market

A day in the life

While you will always strive towards one goal - delighting customers - no two days will be the same. You lead meetings with multiple stakeholders to drive alignment for your programs. You coordinate and write multiple documents with leadership visibility, from strategic to tests to reviews, requiring multiple inputs from several stakeholders. You challenge the status quo and drive data based decisions making with cross-functional teams. You plan and organize to the tee to ensure seamless execution. You will continuously find new problems to solve and be required to partner with teams across Japan and the globe to deliver for our customers. You take business trips within and outside Japan on a need basis to build your skills, network and to gain insights from other regions and bring and export best practices to and from Japan.

AMXL JP team is a single threaded organization that owns Amazon's end-to-end Heavy & Bulky (H&B) logistics network with our willing and equally customer obsessed partners, offering shipping, service & support for consumers and companies in a safe, reliable, seamless, standardized, and sustainable way that surprises and delights our customers. Our delivery partners are experienced in H&B deliveries, providing special handling services such as Room of Choice Delivery, Installation/Assembly and Recycling/Haul-Away.

Our team is made up of a diverse group of individuals across operations, supply chain, tech, finance, planning, customer experience, business intelligence and program management that work closely and collaboratively across Amazon to constantly improve and scale our operations, always insisting on the highest standards and obsessing over delivering bigger smiles for our customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Business level of English

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions

  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • Business Level of Japanese
