Amazon Program Manager, Amazon in Tokyo, Japan

Description

Our operations network, known for our speed, accuracy, and exceptional service, delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. To keep our operations network secure and assure operational continuity, we are looking for an experienced professional who wants to join our Project Management Office (PMO) and Strategy team as Program Manager. In this key role, you will own and manage complex, technical projects and programs that focus on automating Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) processes across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) Region.

Key job responsibilities

• Own and drive complex projects and programs supporting organizational development and change management with a strong emphasis on standardizing and optimizing processes

• Support projects and programs related to people management, professional and organizational development, continuous improvement, change management, restructuring, standardizing, and optimization

• Ensure all your programs and initiatives align with organizational goals and objectives and they meet all relevant regulatory, legal, and labor requirements

• Collate and inspect data, track and report milestones, and present findings through regular business reports. (Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly)

• Act as the lead for project management approaches and ensures consistent use of project management solutions and standards

A day in the life

As a Program Manager on the APAC PMO & Strategy team, you will join a group of professionals supporting the Security and Loss Prevention team with organizational growth. To achieve this goal, you will be the single threaded point of contact for specific countries within the APAC region. You will own and drive complex projects as well as programs that have a strong emphasis on standardizing and optimizing processes. For example, you will oversee project management approaches and ensure consistent use of project management solutions and standards across Security and Loss Prevention to ensure consistency with goals at the country/regional/global level. You will demonstrate a high degree of ownership, have bias for action, and be responsible for your own work stream. You will collate and inspect data, track and report milestones, and present findings through weekly and monthly business reports. You will also prepare, maintain, and update project management databases. Your implemented solutions will be realistic, standardized, optimized, and where possible automated. They will resolve defined business problems, be cost effective, scalable, measurable, adoptable, and operationally acceptable for our customers. You will ensure all of your projects and programs align with organizational goals and objectives and they meet all relevant regulatory, legal, and labor requirements as well as obligations. You will also support the rest of the APAC PMO & Strategy team with their projects and programs related to people management, professional and organizational development, continuous improvement, change management, restructuring, standardizing, and optimization. Your scope of influence is internal customers from across APAC and vendors from across the globe.

About the team

In partnership with our stakeholders, APAC S&LP secures the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promotes security during business conversations. The APAC PMO & Strategy team is a support function to S&LP with responsibility to drive projects and manage security programs that drives organizational growth. The team leads projects that ensure operational standardization in the field and drives projects/programs that optimize and automate processes. APAC PMO & Strategy also ensures that S&LP has sufficient, suitable, and skilled personnel to match growth and creates standardized, optimized, and automated mechanisms to support organizational growth and structure.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
