Google Product Manager II, Geo User-Generated Content in Tokyo, Japan

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
2 years of experience developing or launching products or technologies within databases, analytics, big data, or a related area.
Experience building consumer facing products.
Preferred qualifications:
8 years of experience in consumer product management, with experience in developing and launching successful products.
Experience distilling complexity into simple narratives, including executive presentations.
Experience working across functions (e.g., Engineering, Product, UX, Analytics/Data Science, policy, legal) and teams (i.e., Search, Discovery).
Experience with metrics and experiment analysis (A/B testing) and building on past insights to form cohesive takeaways.
Familiarity with content abuse, policy, or quality domain.
Ability to define and quantify business tradeoffs, in support of the team’s larger strategies.
User-Generated Content (UGC) such as Reviews and Suggested Map Edits represent a key differentiator for Google Maps and Search. UGC is critical for helping people decide where to go, and plays a huge role in keeping the Map fresh.
The Real World Experience team's mission within UGC is to help users everywhere share their authentic real world experiences and make well-informed decisions. Contributors share Reviews, Ratings, Photos/Videos, and Answers every day, helping users across Search and Maps decide where to go and in turn supporting and improving businesses globally.
The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.
The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.
Define and advocate the product strategy for addressing UGC content gaps and driving growth, focusing on specific user segments, markets, and surfaces.
Translate the strategy into a prioritized roadmap with initiatives aimed at filling data gaps and growing targeted content.
Understand our UGC corpus and envision how to leverage existing resources or build innovative contribution experiences to capture targeted content.
Drive targeted UGC growth by identifying and addressing data gaps and underserved segment needs.
Collaborate with partner teams to understand local data needs and strategize on effective UGC solicitation methods. Partner with UX, Research, Engineering and Data teams to design, launch, and iterate on new features and experiences.
