Are you interested in innovating to deliver world-class service to Amazon’s Selling Partners? The AMPS program is designed to improve the customer and Selling Partner experience on Amazon by empowering Merchant Consultants to work directly with Selling Partners to improve the value, selection and convenience of their business. Our team will invent and innovate across technology, process, and people to grow the program, improve seller engagement and satisfaction, and enable solutions through direct collaboration with global teams. AMPS is looking for a highly motivated learning professional to join us as Manager, Learning & Development (L&D) to define the strategy and deliver scalable learning solutions to grow our Seller Services business, including AMPS. The L&D Manager will be responsible for the learning journey of all members of our Seller Services team, assessing skills, developing necessary training, validating effectiveness and providing an optimal learning experience, while leading a team of Learning Program Managers. You will be expected to develop improvement plans to achieve the overall business outcome based on a clear analysis of the gap between now and the future. You will play a key role in developing our portfolio of Paid Services solutions with cross-functional teams and colleagues in the US, EU and China, in addition to Japan. The ideal candidate will have experience successfully hiring, managing and developing team members, as well as the ability to set a vision for a team and put the right mechanisms in place to keep team members focused on delivering results a high degree of autonomy, and have a proven track record of taking end-to-end responsibility and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead a team in hiring, managing, and developing team members.

• Devise and implement innovative and measurable learning journeys not only for AMPS but also for Seller Services.

• Visualize the skills assessment and growth of the sales teams and create a mechanism to ensure that the right training is given at the right time.

• Define analytical approaches to complex or ambiguous business requirements, derive business insights from multiple data sources, and develop strategies.

• Drive key initiatives to improve sales efficiency and quality in partnership with domestic/global teams.

• Lead projects to address key cross-functional opportunities that impact Selling partners.

• Maintain knowledge of current trends in learning technology, science, and analytics through research and experimentation, and apply that knowledge to the development of learning programs.

• Provide regular project updates to senior leadership, including key successes/challenges.

• Understand how to thrive in an ambiguous environment and lead teams without line of sight to a clear solution in the short term.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of team leadership experience and proven ability to develop and attract top talent

• 3+ years of corporate learning program design or sales enablement leadership experience

• 5+ years of program or project management experience

• 5+ years of experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams

• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to derive business insights

• Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

• Business English/Japanese speaking, writing, and reading skills (required to attend meetings, lead discussions, and write documents)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master degree in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or related field
