Google Head of Google for Startups (Fixed-Term Contract) in Tokyo, Japan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 11 years of experience in leading multiple projects or programs.

  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship.

  • Understanding of founder needs and issues along with the Japan startup ecosystem and engaged landscape.

  • Ability to work across disciplines effectively with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to take initiative and work with a sense of urgency.

  • Excellent networking, problem-solving, investigative, communication, project management, and influencing skills.

Google for Startups operates a global network of Campuses - physical hubs where entrepreneurs can learn, connect and build companies we hope will change the world. We are building a team to catalyze the startup ecosystem in each Campus market to help startups launch, grow and go global.

Google for Startups works to empower startups worldwide through a combination of programs, partnerships and Google products. We run a series of physical spaces called Campuses where we work directly with startups and startup communities, and where we partner with organizations to support entrepreneurship globally.

  • Be a startup advocate inside and outside of Google and drive positive change in the ecosystem by focusing on key ecosystem issues, promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Google Core values.

  • Represent Google for Startups at major Startup related events in Japan.

  • Define the local partnership strategy and ensure Google for Startups (GFS) is a key player in the local startup ecosystem.
