Hyatt Director of Sales - Department Head in TOKYO, Japan

Description:

Responsible for the overall management of the sales team (some of the tasks you will be entrusted with are listed below).

Operations

-Set up key accounts and develop strategies to increase market share by leveraging Unicorn and Pixis databases.

-Perform market and competitive research on a regular basis.

-Greet VIP guests upon arrival and departure.

-Create forecast files listing staff names, convention plans, etc. for promotional purposes.

-Directs sales representatives on promotions to travel agencies and groups.

Management

-P&P, department operations reflecting work processes and standards within the department.

Support the creation, management and updating of manuals in detail and review them annually.

-Involved in the preparation of the Marketing Business Plan, ensuring that the departmental goals are adequately aligned with the hotel's objectives and the needs of its employees.

-Work closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Revenue Team.

Assist in the preparation and updating of departmental budgets, ensuring that goals are met and costs are under control.

Human Resource Development

  • Assist in the development of multi-skilled, multi-tasking sales staff in accordance with internal guidelines.

  • Oversee the compliance of operations with P&P and applicable laws through detailed controls.

Qualifications:

-Minimum 24 years experience as a Deputy Sales Manager in a hotel

-Experience in the travel/hotel industry is a must

-Degree in sales, marketing, hospitality, tourism management, etc.

-Communication and negotiation skills -Tracking, project management and organizational skills

-Able to use COGNOS.

-Ability to understand the basics of “Revenue Management”.

-Knowledgeable in Unicorn, Pyxis, Opera, Reserve

-Fluent English - ability to read, write and speak. Multi-lingual preferred.
