Primary role objective

The Communications Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing strategic corporate communications plans and tactics, with a strong emphasis on internal communications.

This individual will lead communications for local leadership and company-wide initiatives such as CSR programs. We are looking for a strong writer who can create compelling content in both Japanese and English, and can build trusting relationships with key stakeholders to enable meaningful two-way communication.

Key responsibilities:

· Internal Communications:

­ Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that drives business success and employee engagement.

­ Write and edit content for internal communications channels (memos, newsletters, intranet articles, digital signage, speeches, video scripts, etc.).

­ Act as a communications partner to business leaders and provide strategic counsel on planning and executing their respective internal communication activities.

­ Translate and cascade significant global/regional communications.

­ Collaborate with other teams to ensure messaging consistency across all internal and external channels.

­ Curate and develop compelling content that highlights key wins and best practices, and recognizes employees.

­ Oversee and contribute to major internal change management and company-wide initiatives such as our flagship CSR program.

­ Develop strong relationships with CBRE’s local leaders and other internal stakeholders to gather information for news, announcements, and events.

­ Align with APAC communications lead to localize global/regional initiatives, ensure consistency of content strategy, and report back on local metrics and successes.

­ Manage the intranet to ensure information is clear, easy-to-find, and engaging.

· External and Client Communications:

­ Work closely with events and other Marketing & Communications teams to support the development of external/client communications.

­ Ensure that corporate materials (company overview, brochure, etc.) are up to date and consistent with our voice and tone.

­ Respond to broker inquiries and requests for corporate information.

­ Manage external requests on corporate information such as responding to questionnaires.

­ Collaborate with digital communications to develop social media content.

· Operations:

­ Manage relationship with translation vendor and other communications-related partners.

Required Knowledge & Skills :

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English

· 5years+ experience in corporate communications, marketing, or related discipline, preferably in a real estate, financial or professional services company based in Japan

· Well-versed in all aspects of the communications mix

· A hands-on project manager with a demonstrated ability to deliver results, from planning through to execution

· Ability to quickly grasp information; a skilled storyteller

· Client focused, with a strong dedication to meet the expectations and deliver quality work

· Exposure to managing key stakeholder relationships and is comfortable engaging with senior leadership

· Team player who is also able to work well independently

· Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Comfortable with technology (interest in technology a plus)
