Description

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Have you ever thought about the next model for data and software procurement and deployment? Do you have experience working in a high performing, customer facing business development function? Are you interested in incubating a new business within the world's fastest growing multi-billion dollar technology company? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for people who thrive in an environment where you are faced with new things every day and have the latitude to figure it out and run with it.

AWS Marketplace (http://aws.amazon.com/marketplace) makes it easy for millions of AWS customers to find, try, buy, deploy, and manage solutions from AWS Partners. Our job is to bring Amazon's e-commerce expertise to cloud software and fundamentally change how partner solutions are discovered and consumed in the cloud. We have a long list of new ideas just waiting to be designed and implemented, and are busy driving adoption with both customers and partners .

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to incubate and scale the AWS Marketplace business in Japan. Acting as a Marketplace subject-matter-expert (SME), you will work closely with AWS Marketplace, AWS Sales and Partners Teams to build a scalable joint AWS-Partner-Customer engagement model through AWS Marketplace to ensure that AWS and its Partners can meet local customer requirements and grow the business.

In this role, your responsibilities will include working closely with the AWS Marketplace, Japan field and partner teams to identify and prioritize areas of focus, help drive Marketplace adoption across Japan. You will develop mechanisms to establish-grow the business in target market segments, identify prospects for long-term business opportunities, and manage projects across internal and external teams to help scale, and effectively position programs that benefit AWS customers and partners. As a Marketplace SME, you will support the AWS field & Partners team with internal-external enablement, day-to-day customer-partner interactions and complex Marketplace engagements or opportunities requiring deep expertise. You will also be a strong voice of the customer and be responsible for driving inputs to evolve the AWS Marketplace service and programs to better meet customer and partner needs in Japan.

You should have a strong technology background, as well as strong business development skills that enable you to engage at the customer executive level. You will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the business, product, customer & partner engagement and technical challenges facing AWS Marketplace as well as AWS Partners & Customers. You should be self-motivated, customer-centric, able to operate in a multi-faceted way, delivery-focused and should understand what it takes to build a long term business. This position has a high level of external and internal visibility. You will need to be able to communicate clearly and compellingly both in writing and through your presentation skills.
