Currently, Bruce Power is actively recruiting for Mechanical Maintainers to join our team.

We will build a safety-focused maintenance team that contributes to i mproving equipment reliability through the successful planning and execution of maintenance, outages and projects through discipline, rigour, foresight and teamwork. As such, we continue to recruit for ideal candidates to join our team.

Mechanical Maintainers have the highest regard for safety, are responsible for maintaining systems needed to fuel and control nuclear reactors plus ancillary systems.

Successful candidates will be assigned to a specific work location onsite based on business needs and must be available to work various shift patterns (i.e. days, afternoons, nights).

These are permanent, full-time positions which offer a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and will be located on site in Tiverton, Ontario.

What will you be responsible for?

  • May be required to work from heights, in confined spaces, and in environments containing, respiratory radiological, chemical, electrical, and mechanical hazards

  • Maintain and repair items such as compressors, valves, motors, pumps, turbines, hydraulic systems and generators

  • Carry out quality predictive maintenance, preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance, to ensure reliable system operation and ensure the equipment is in a good state of repair

  • Perform equipment surveillance as required. Perform post maintenance monitoring and testing of equipment.

  • Commission and decommission new equipment and systems and adjust, calibrate and inspect as per commissioning plans.

  • Provide feedback to technical staff regarding the condition of the equipment through dismantling, inspection and re-assembly in accordance with established procedures

  • This work may be performed on a twelve hour, rotating shift schedule

Education and Experience

  • Candidates require an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent as recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education

  • Candidates that hold more than (1) Certificate of Qualification are an asset

  • Work experience on process equipment and systems in a related industry is considered an asset

  • Candidates must hold a valid Ontario or Interprovincial License in one or more of the following trades:

  • Millwright

  • Steamfitter/Pipefitter

  • Boilermaker

  • HVAC

  • Ironworker

  • Tool and Die Maker

  • Machinist

  • Welder
