Pipe Support Engineer Hybrid position
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline.
- 1 or more years of experience working in a 3D model environment.
- Familiarity with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes, such as ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes.
- Experience using a piping support structural analysis program.
- Complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
Preferred
- P.E. license.
- Previous Bechtel, DoD, and/or DoE project experience.
- Previous experience with GTStrudel.
- Previous experience using pipe support modeling software.
Summary Cimarron is seekingPipe Support Engineersto support the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) program. The ML2 will be used, like the first mobile launcher, as the platform for assembling and testing the Space Launch System (SLS) in the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center, transporting the rocket to Launch Complex 39B, and supporting the vehicle's launch. The platform includes various interfaces for fueling the rocket, providing power and data, and a crew access arm. This opportunity is ahybridrole and will allow for some remote work (i.e. work from home a few days a week). For candidates not local to the KSC area, per diem is available.
Key Duties:
- Locate and design supports in a 3D model environment for various piping systemsand perform associated calculations.
- Design pipe supports for various piping systems and performassociated calculations.
- Work closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver quality and cost-effective designs.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
