TEKsystems is in need of a Fire Alarm Installer who is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems in various types of buildings, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Here are some key duties and responsibilities typically associated with this role:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installation: Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine the best locations for fire alarm equipment. Install and program control panels, sensors, and all other equipment for fire alarm systems.

• Maintenance and Repair: Conduct tests to evaluate the functionality of fire alarm systems and components. Perform regular maintenance, including cleaning and replacing parts as necessary. Identify and correct malfunctions or faults in fire alarm systems.

• Compliance: Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Inspect installations for conformance with legal and safety requirements.

• Customer Interaction: Provide training and instruction to building owners or managers on the use and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot system malfunctions.

• Documentation: Prepare and maintain records related to installations, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience of installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems

• Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 3 within 12 months

• Strong understanding of electrical systems and proficiency with hand and power tools.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams accurately.

• General physical agility and stamina to perform tasks such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations like crawlspaces or attics.

• Ability to explain technical issues to customers and provide clear instructions on system use and maintenance.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00
