Backend SW Engineer

Your role:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on the design, functionality, performance, and quality of our clinical software products.

As a Backend Software Developer , you will be involved in developing challenging software modules and systems within a complex and advanced environment.

You will be part of the R&D team of Philips Image Management product which serves different steps in the radiology workflow .

Philips Image Management solution provides a complete and scalable, local and wide area Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) solutions for hospital and related institutions/sites.

The system archive, distribute, retrieve, and display images and data from hospital modalities and information systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, integrate, and test backend components or modules, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.

• Maintain clean, scalable, and maintainable code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.

• Analyze requirements, estimate efforts, and break down tasks for efficient execution.

• Collaborate on both new product development and maintenance of existing systems.

• Lead software design, including technical reviews and documentation.

• Resolve defects and continuously improve the software.

• Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

• Explore and adopt new technologies to enhance development processes.

• Ensure compliance with engineering processes and quality standards.

You're the right fit if:

• 3-5 years of software development experience.

• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Java, or C#.

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Familiarity with Windows system internals and runtime environments.

• Experience with system-level development, particularly in enterprise solutions.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred:

• Deep expertise in C++.

• Experience in backend development, including architecture design, infrastructure, networking, and system reliability.

• Previous experience working in international organizations.

• Hands-on experience with Cloud development (AWS preferred).

• Familiarity with medical software development, including regulatory processes.

• Experience as a Scrum Master or in Agile SAFE methodology.
