Air Force Materiel Command MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in Tinker AFB, Oklahoma

The primary purpose of this position is to support efforts to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of the organization. Provide program and management assistance to the organization who are responsible for quality program management, quality assurance and quality control of all products produced or repaired within the organization. Responsibilities Controls, monitors and provides technical and clerical support, and maintains oversight for several organization programs, services, resources, processes/procedures, along with timekeeping. Monitors and maintains the Operational Instructions documents, files, reports and provides management officials with information regarding changes to system, process or program documents Assists management in the conduct of bottom to top reviews and inspections of assigned programs Maintains supervisor's electronic calendar, scheduling appointments and meetings, including those involving staff from outside the immediate office, in accordance with supervisor's instructions. Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with coworkers, related functions, customers, and operating officials. Use multiple office automation systems and software capabilities to research, trend and produce a wide range of documents and reports that often require complex formats, such as graphs or tables whin test editing and reforming electronic drafts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Ability to prepare reports with research using graphics, tables, charts, and spreadsheets; AND Assit leadership with reveiws of programs and conduction studies; AND Send written correspondence to individuals inside and outside the organization; AND Ability to manage schedules for organization and inform/remind leadership of upcoming deadlines. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of technical management methods and organization practices. Knowledge of operational instruction systems documentations, files, reports and organization processes, practices and techniques. Knowledge of operational instruction systems practices to provide ready access to maintained files and regulatory documentation. Knowledge of documented operational instructions systems standards and instructions for evaluating system. process and program operations and skill in applying data gathering mc1hods to collect factual information. Knowledge of software programs to produce a wide range of documents requiring use of automated software functions to enhance productively or meet needs of complex formats such graphics or labels within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts and charts and to update or revise existing databases or spreadsheets. Ability lo analyze, verify and correlate data and to locate, assemble and compose information for non-routine reports, inquiries and technical correspondence. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization and format to be able to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to plan and organize work, meet deadlines and perform basic arithmetic calculations. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
