Kelly Services Maintenance Technician in Tiffin, Ohio

Location: Tiffin, OH

Pay Rate: $25 to $27 (depending on experience)

Duration: 3 months

Shift:

1st - Monday - Friday: 6:15 AM - 2:45 PM

OR

3rd - Sunday - Thursday: 9:30 PM - 6:00 AM

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Tech 1 position is an hourly position, and reports to the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor. The employee performs work setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, as well as fabricating parts and tools.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes work in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.

  • Diagnoses malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

  • Completes work in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.

  • Requisitions and track and update spare parts.

  • Modifies programming of controllers and programmable controllers.

  • Ability to plan and perform work requiring basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electronic theory and principles.

  • Fabricate and/or modifies equipment as required using machine tools, hand tools and electronic components.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and piping and instrumentation drawings.

  • In depth knowledge of manufacturing, industrial maintenance, and industrial machine control principles and practices.

  • Ability to maintain precision measurements.

  • Strong knowledge of LTT, energy control procedures and safe working procedures.

  • PLC and AC/DC drive experience.

  • Must have experience with fusing, thermal overload protection, wiring size, motor theory, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical gear.

  • Must have knowledge of basic electrical code.

  • Operate a computer, learn SAP and Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • SAP knowledge and experience.

  • Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to operate mobile equipment including forklift, scissor lift and other portable equipment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and pass drug screen and employment physical.

  • Minimum of 3 years related industrial experience industrial multi-craft maintenance or applicable military training in Electrical Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, or other technical areas.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all safety rules of the facility.

  • Wear all proper PPE.

  • Inform plant of any and all safety concerns.
