How you make a difference

The RTC Psychiatrist is a licensed Psychiatrist who works under the guidance of the Health Services Administrator, Program Manager, or higher licensed health professional. Their primary responsibilities include conducting assessments, diagnosing mental illnesses, and prescribing medication for mentally-ill and Incompetent to Stand Trial (IST) patients in the RTC program. They are dedicated to adhering to the company's Policy & Procedure (P&P) Manual to ensure compliance in their practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere strictly to court and company policies and procedures as applicable to the role of the Psychiatrist.

  • Conduct weekly individual meetings with RTC patients to assess medication adherence and evaluate the need for treatment changes.

  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all patient encounters in their health records.

  • Collaborate in weekly Treatment Team meetings, offering clinical support and guidance when necessary.

  • Collaborate with the Sheriff's Office team, fostering supportive relationships with staff and Sheriff's Deputies/Officers, and document all relevant findings in the patient's health records.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Education associated with licensure as a Psychiatrist in the state of employment.

Experience

  • One + year experience as a licensed Psychiatrist

  • Previous experience with restoration of competency patients preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensure as a Psychiatrist in state of employment

  • Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA

Compliance

  • Must obtain and maintain security clearance throughout the course of employment.

  • Must pass background investigation conducted by the Company and/or Facility as a requisite for initial and or continued employment.

  • May be required to undergo reasonable suspicion testing for being under the influence of controlled substances, including prescription, legal, and illegal substances, including marijuana.

  • Must undergo security training and orientation on Facility Safety Policies and Procedures.

  • Must follow county facility policies and procedures.
