Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direction of the Laboratory Director, the Core Laboratory Technical Coordinator oversees the technical operations of the department. The Coordinator is responsible for reviewing and revising the policies and procedures in the laboratory to ensure compliance with CAP, JCAHO, and CLIA Standards. He/she provides technical assistance and training of Laboratory personnel, assigns maintenance duties and proficiency testing duties. He/she ensures validity and accuracy of test results by review of result logs, QC, PI, and worksheets where applicable. He/she will be required to work the technical functions of the work bench on a routine basis. He/she is familiar with the various services available in the hospital and the interactions with the Laboratory. The Technical Coordinator will continually strive to improve training skills and technical skills and knowledge through formal and informal education.

What qualifications you will need:

• MT or MLT ASCP, CLS or CLT NCA, or MT AMT preferred

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field (Chemistry, Biology, etc.), and a one year internship preferred

• Four years minimum experience as a Technologist in assigned area required
