Digi-Key Electronics Supplier Business Development Director in Thief River Falls, Minnesota

To learn more, visit our benefits and perks page. __ Position Overview:The Supplier Business Development Director is the primary senior, global point of contact for a specified set of suppliers. This role will focus on driving sustainable positive results for DigiKey and the supplier by integrating and leveraging available resources from both teams; ultimately owning the strategy, performance, and results of their assigned line(s). The Supplier Business Development Director will leverage the current network and discover supplier, and customer needs to propose appropriate technology solutions to achieve business goals. The Supplier Business Development Director will be responsible for mentoring and coaching other areas and peers in working with their specific suppliers. This is a hybrid role, some onsite attendance may be required. Responsibilities: Oversee and drive DigiKey's global or regional performance as defined for assigned suppliers which includes revenue, customer expansion, product technology and strategic marketing initiatives Develop business plans and related execution strategies (customer count, sales, market share, margin, ROI, etc.) for specific suppliers across key levers of product portfolio, inventory health, pricing, eCommerce/web merchandising, marketing partnership and sales engagement Manage the operational efficiencies of the supplier within DigiKey (i.e. EDI, API, Consignment, Ship from Stock and Debits, etc.) Establish strategic initiatives necessary to achieve corporate goals in all appropriate metrics Serve as one of the primary DigiKey point of contact to assigned suppliers Understand and represent Suppliers' and DigiKey's value proposition to one another; grow and manage corporate relationship between DigiKey and suppliers Build and enhance relationships with corporate/executive leadership across key functions: sales, marketing, digital leadership Drive accountability for area specific KPIs/OKRs (e.g. customer count, market share, SKU count, NPI pipeline, etc.) Set & meet/exceed individual supplier specific goals in yearly supplier plans that align to the area KPIs/OKRs Schedule and conduct corporate business reviews Lead the preparation and execution of strategic supplier meetings, responsible for action item follow-up Support and develop strategies to leverage technical capabilities to capture value creation opportunities Demonstrate significant self-initiative in learning all aspects of the business Subject Matter Expert for assigned suppliers, strengths, opportunities, competitive landscape, market dynamics, regional nuances Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time Taking on additional responsibilities from the Supplier Business Development Leadership Attend meetings, conferences and/or seminars; gains outside DigiKey perspective and best practices Lead/participate on cross-functional committees, task forces May participate/lead organizational change initiatives (e.g. process, technology, etc) May participate in the creation of training & documentation of processes as well as the facilitation of training Other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience Associate degree in business or technical field; Bachelor's Degree Preferred Typically, 10+ years of Sales, Marketing, Product Management or other related roles Well versed in the various functions of DigiKey, how they work together as well as the industry DigiK y operates in, as well as the impact & responsibility DigiKey has to the community it operates in Strong representative of DigiKey brand and its principles Demonstrated strong presentation skills for a variety of audiences including executive management/C-Level Demonstrated understanding of basic financial documents and metrics Contractual, negotiating, and fiscal management experience. Knowledge and familiarity with the electronic component distribution industry Ability to understand and communicate technical requirements and parameters associated with electronic components Ability to work independently with minimal direction Must demonstrate the following behavioral competencies: Integrity, Organizational Development, Strategic Awareness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Learning Orientation, Resilience Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship Physical Requirements: Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse, and screen Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body .
