Crane Operator

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of three years as a Crane Operator required.
• Experience with hydraulic, friction, and pile driving a plus.
• NCCCO or NCCER certified a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promotes, executes and adheres to the companys safety program.
• Operates multiple pieces of crane equipment used in underground construction, base preparation and construction, and paving.
• Operates cranes in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Performs daily maintenance and safety checks of crane before and after each use. Reports to Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager if there are issues.
• Conducts pre-operational checks on crane, and clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary.
• Maneuvers crane equipment into loading or unloading positions. Follows signals from loading crew as needed. Checks that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
• Ensures a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
• Operates crane equipment on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the crane equipment.
• Performs other duties or task as required based on companys needs.
