Job Title: Supply Chain Manager – Specialty Chemicals

Chevron Phillips is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join the Polymers & Specialties organization. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing all worldwide aspects of supply chain for Borger sourced products from feedstock procurement to production planning, forecasting, distribution, costing and deployment of key Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) processes for the Specialty Chemicals group. Additionally, this individual apply analytical tools (SAP, planning, forecasting, inventory target/management models) to develop strategies to meet budget targets, as well as, serve as the primary coordinator between WRB Refinery and CPChem. The Supply Chain Manager position can be located at our Woodlands, TX headquarters or the Borger Plant in Borger, TX, and reports to the Specialty Chemicals Business Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Borger Supply Chain organization that supports worldwide supply chain processes by providing supervision and direction to a group of highly trained individuals tasked with the management and oversight of the entire portfolio of supply chain and cost to serve duties.

  • Serves as the liaison between CPChem and WRB refinery planning personnel on behalf of Specialty Chemicals and provides timely communication of any potential deviations from plan to Product Management and Sales.

  • Participates in the Sales and Operational Planning processes, which includes developing and presenting Production Plans, Inventory Targets, Sales Targets, and Cost Targets after obtaining input from Product Management, Sales and Plant personnel.

  • Develops and implements Borger production plan and schedule to support the sales plan, then monitors performance against the plan.

  • Manages some third-party offsite production and distribution.

  • Supervises the product and raw material inventories, establishing inventory targets and then managing against targets.

  • Manages the procurement of feedstocks for Specialty Chemicals in support of production and sales plans in the Americas region.

  • Develops distribution budgets and provides related cost center reporting.

  • Operates Borger manufacturing feedstocks budget in coordination with Borger plant, Specialty Chemicals Product Management and Sales.

  • Assists with development of sales budget through use of analytical modeling tools.

  • Manages and tracks the railcar and container fleet equipment that support the Specialty Chemicals business.

  • Maintains interface with plant units, business staff, functional groups, and suppliers as required to support supply chain planning and execution process.

  • Supports new product development including new feedstock and production scheduling, as needed.

  • Leads, inspires, coaches, mentors, develops, and trains Supply Chain personnel to efficiently identify and respond to customer needs, as well as executing all essential Supply Chain responsibilities.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required (degree in engineering, chemistry or other technical field preferred)

  • 8 years or more related industry experience (supply chain, commercial, and/or manufacturing)

  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and have the demonstrated ability to communicate with employees at all organizational levels; be an innovative and out-of-the box thinker with strong initiative

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills for modeling and financial analysis), Power BI and SAP

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Knowledge of Specialty Chemicals product lines and/or refinery operations

  • Experience with manufacturing budgeting processes

  • Master of Business Administration

This is an exempt job family/individual contributor position. Final grade determination will be based on the successful candidate's overall qualifications.
