As the Senior Technical Services Manager you will be a key leader responsible for managing a team of industry experts, overseeing innovation and technical service projects, and driving the successful application of the company’s products.
This role involves providing strategic technical direction, leading key customer projects, and ensuring that technical solutions align with business objectives and customer requirements.
The Senior Technical Manager will work closely with leaders in Operational Marketing and Sales to deliver the Advanced Materials growth strategy in core markets of aerospace, automotive, industrial adhesives, infrastructure coatings, and power distribution.
In summary, as the Sr. Technical Services Manager, you will:
• Develop and execute technical strategies to support the Advanced Materials division’s objectives and growth initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of technical professionals across Advanced Materials’ core markets, including Application Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and technical service specialists
• Prioritize and oversee complex technical projects, including product development, applications development, customer projects, and implementation of new technology.
• Act as a key technical liaison with customers, identifying and addressing their technical needs, providing solutions, building relationships with technical credibility, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with sales, marketing, and R&D teams to ensure successful product launches, market positioning, and alignment of technical solutions with customer needs.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s product portfolio and their applications across various industries.
• Implement and champion continuous improvement of site EHS practices.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, setting clear goals, managing performance, and supporting professional development.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and meet requirements and quality standards.
• Prepare and communicate to senior management and key stakeholders on technical project status, team performance relative to business objectives, and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct technical presentations, training sessions, and product demonstrations to educate customers and stakeholders.
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain market leadership.
• Collaborate with global technical teams to share knowledge and best practices.
Required Qualifications
• A Master’s degree or Ph.D in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical leadership role within the specialty chemical or advanced materials industry, with a proven track record of leading technical projects and teams.
• Must have an unrestricted right to work for in the United States.
Skills & Knowledge
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with prior experience in mentoring and developing high-performing technical teams.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence customers, stakeholders, and senior management.
• Excellent customer-facing skills to build relationships, capture the voice of the customer, identify and assess needs, and facilitate integration of next-generation technology.
• Strong technical expertise in advanced materials and their applications, with the ability to solve complex problems and drive innovation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in one or more of the aerospace, automotive, industrial adhesive, infrastructure coatings or power distribution markets.
• Experience with thermoset polymers or advanced materials.
• Prior commercial role.
• People leadership.
Travel
• Willingness to travel within the Americas as needed.
• Domestic travel to customers and industry events, up to 30% of the time.
• International travel minimal, 1 or 2 times per year.

• Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm CST
• Salary: $100-110K dependent upon level of education and experience
