Description
Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for a Senior Accountant who's looking to build their career in a thriving, dynamic setting in the the greater Houston market. As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. How you will make an impact
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
Requirements
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Must have excellent time management skills
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Efficient in SAP
Intercompany Accounting experience
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus
Ability to meet deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Excellent oral and written communications skills
3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
