The Jr. Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for assisting with monthly preparation of internal and external financial statements and regulatory reports for the bank and its affiliates.Each month the financial reporting team is responsible for closing the books at Woodforest National Bank, Woodforest Wealth Strategies, and Allivate Impact Capital. This position will assist the financial reporting team with the month-end closing process for each business. As a skilled accounting professional, the incumbent will be part of the daily financial operations including but not limited to managing accounting for subsidiaries, participating in general accounting and financial planning efforts, regulatory reporting, and ad hoc projects.* *

Key Responsibilities:

· Contributes to the preparation of presentations of monthly results for the bank and its affiliates to management as part of the month-end cycle.

· Assist in preparation of reports such as FR 2900, FR 2644, Call Report, Y9-C, Y9-LP, annual audited financials as well as other annual reports and government surveys.

· Assists in management of corresponding banking.

· Performs a variety of accounting tasks for the bank and its affiliates including but not limited to preparing journal entries, reconciling various balance sheet accounts, processing, and reconciling interfacing sub-systems to the general ledger, ad hoc reporting, and preparing analysis based on financial results.

· Assists with the preparation and reconciliation of bank statements as needed for the bank and its affiliates.

· Self-starter who uses time effectively and efficiently meeting required deadlines.

· Strong collaborative skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail and concern for data accuracy.

· Solid technology abilities, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, advanced filtering, v-lookups, sumifs, etc.)

· Knowledge of basic financial, accounting principles including U.S. GAAP.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

· 1 years of directly-related work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in lieu of work experience required.* *

Formal Education & Certification:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, banking, or finance required.

Work Status:

· Full-time.* *

Supervisory Responsibility:

· None.

Travel:

· 10% travel may be expected.* *

Working Conditions:

· Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
