HMT Tank HSE Coordinator in The Woodlands, Texas

Under the leadership of the HSE Manager, the HSE Coordinator will support operations in implementing HSE programs. The incumbent will work closely with the HSE Manager in partnering with operations to pursue our objectives, targets and overall goal of reaching our beyond zero safety targets. This position will be focused on supporting our field employees working on client sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards and support the Company's commitment to safety adhering to the Company's Values

· Counsel and advise all HMT employees and subcontractors in acceptable safety and training performance and practices

· Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern

· Proactively seeks new ways to improve overall safety performance and employee well-being in the field.

· Manage and enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements of job sites

· Assure that all work is performed in compliance with HMT and customer requirements

· Conduct regular walk-through inspections of work areas.

· Resolves safety concerns in the field in a timely manner.

· Conduct new or re-hire Safety Orientation, maintenance training and other safety training as required.

· Conduct and document HSE Self-Assessments for project sites and production facilities in the designated region

· Report unsafe situation and behaviors though the HMT Observation program and recommend corrective actions

· Identify and assign Corrective Actions

· Lead and participate in incident Investigations and Report on Investigation Findings

· Assist operations in obtaining required safety equipment and safety supplies

· Coordinate, conduct or facilitate Health & Safety training activities and safety meetings

· Perform safety risk assessments and support JSA completion

Qualifications & Education

· Education: GED/Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree preferred

· 3 years of experience in the field of HSE

· OSHA knowledgeable; TWIC Card

· Able to work independently without supervision

· Good written and verbal communications skills

· Able to lead a group discussion or a team if needed

· Able to work with technology and online fillable forms

· Focused and able to deliver on time

· Must be a self-starter and committed individual

Physical & Mental Requirements

The physical demands must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to touch and feel. The employee frequently is required to walk, stoop, kneel, climb stairs or ladders 40 feet or higher, carry, push/pull and use repetitive wrist and hand movements. The employee may be required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Hearing and seeing ability of rapid mental coordination. It is required to be mentally alert for the entire regular shift.

Work Environment

This position is expected to spend 80-90% of time in the field observing and coaching co-workers on correction of unsafe conditions and behaviors may will in various locations within the U.S. Some locations may be subject to extreme temperatures, working in high places, etc. Potential for exposure to temperature changes, wetness, confined spaces, fumes/odors, working with ladders/scaffolds, working with pressurized equipment, working at heights, hazardous materials, and working alone. HMT will supply adequate training and equipment to meet the functions of the job. The position will require the use of respiratory protection and the ability to pass a respirator fit test.
