Job Overview:

The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the mechanical discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the mechanical discipline. The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer solves complex problems and uses their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the mechanical team and other related teams and ensures that they are working within the appropriate guidelines and policies.

Mechanical design and analysis of an assigned scope of work in a project including specific complex deliverables with regards to HVAC Equipment. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and supervising vendor packages for equipment and mechanical systems.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Specifies equipment in accordance with process and project requirements

• Writes and handles equipment requisitions in accordance with project requirements

• Makes technical evaluations of incoming quotations from bidders and checks same for completeness of scope and compliance with specifications

• Reviews drawings, documents, and inspection & test procedures from the sellers

• Play an active role in the integrated EPC work process as a member of the project team, for engineering, selection, production, fabrication, expediting, inspection, testing, delivery, shipment, installation and (pre)commissioning of materials

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• BSc Degree

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with significant exposure to HVAC equipment

• Needs to speak and write English
