Job Overview:

The Manager Logistics & Trade Comp role requires an in-depth understanding of Logistics & Trade Compliance concepts, theories, and principles and basic knowledge of other related disciplines. The Manager Logistics & Trade Comp must be able to apply an understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness, provide guidance, and influence processes and policies for the Logistics & Trade Compliance discipline as well as identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems that impact effectiveness. The Manager Logistics & Trade Comp impacts the level of service and the Logistics & Trade Compliance team's ability to meet quality and timeliness objectives. Policies, resource requirements, budgets, and the business plan should guide decisions made by the Manager Logistics & Trade Comp.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the projects or area's Logistics effort

  • Oversee the project's logistics staff

  • Develop a logistics strategy for tracking and movement of project materials

  • Develop and maintain the project logistics schedule in coordination with PCM

  • Utilize & suggest contributions to Global freight forwarders and logistics providers' list

  • Engage with Regional logistics providers as needed to support gaps

  • Develop and maintain project-specific specs (e.g., packing & marking instructions)

  • Perform logistics studies (potentially onsite) to ensure equipment transport to the job site

  • Oversee the process for examination of transport and lifting sketches as needed

  • Undertake performance review of assigned resources to the project

  • Support logistics estimating associated with the bidding process

  • Support the budget breakdown and forecasting of logistics-related costs

  • Facilitate the competitive bidding, cost analysis, and service provider selection process

  • Support status reporting as part of the overall project reporting cadence

  • Support Global Logistics in systems implementation and other company objectives

  • Create and maintain a Logistics execution plan and proposal person-hour efforts for proposals

  • Work closely with the Modularization group in identifying Logistics solutions for Modular projects, both Offshore and Onshore

  • Work with the Global logistics team and developed logistic metrics to benchmark logistics estimates

  • Provide oversight to all Logistics personnel, including resourcing for all proposals and projects

  • Development of Logistic Agreement T&Cs, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and Pre-Bid Agreements (PBAs)

  • Logistics Enquiry preparation, management, system set up, etc.

  • Logistics Supplier engagement for technical and commercial clarification

  • Manage Logistics team to drive procurement of all materials by schedule

  • Familiar with logistics operations and administration where procurement spending is partly funded by Export Credit Agencies underwriting financial loans to clients

  • Manage the Project Procurement activities related to the project

  • Familiarize with the Project Scope of work, fabrication schedule, material specifications, and specific client requirements relating to all Project materials (Structural, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation)

  • Develop a Project Logistics Plan to include all aspects of interface with procurement and subcontracting, including expediting, sourcing responsibility split, communications, and project goals

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Client, Fabrication yard, and Subcontractors on all aspects related to the logistics of Project materials and equipment

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred

  • 10 years or more experience in the capital project logistics industry

  • Offshore and Onshore experience preferred

  • Extensive domestic and international experience executing contracts in key industries, typical procurement processes and procedures

  • Good working knowledge of Trade Compliance import/export regulations

  • Highly analytical and capable of mapping processes to determine areas for improvement

  • Must be able to learn complex software and be able to teach others quickly

  • Displays good leadership skills and works well with others while promoting teamwork

  • Must be intrinsically motivated to succeed and have a high desire for achievement

  • Prefer SPM and JDE experience
