Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is located in The Dalles, Oregon. We work, live, and play in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. This position functions as a nursing leader for care delivery on a single unit or service line, under the supervision of the Emergency Nursing Director. Grounded in Planetree principles, this position provides strategic direction across service line(s) and leadership to deliver quality clinical and operational outcomes, improved patient and family experience, and a high level of patient care and staff engagement. This position serves as the clinical strategist, spearheading transformational initiatives and services that align all providers of care to enhance outcomes, improve patient safety, evidence-based best practices, elevate caregiver and provider engagement, and improve cost effectiveness of care to support MCMC’s success in a value driven healthcare environment.

Assists in House Supervisor role which is responsible for the facilitation of a safe environment and a safe level of nursing care through coordination of interdepartmental services, patient placement, clinical support, and information flow. In the absence of administrative management or director level staff, the Nurse Supervisor coordinates contact with outside agencies, public relation activities, policy interpretation, disaster coordination and general problem solving.

  • Education:

  • Registered Nurse – BSN, bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Licensure/Certification:

  • Current RN license in the State of Oregon.

  • National specialty certification in nursing preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience within the service line specialty.

  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Self-directed with strong communication skills, and a willingness to lead by example.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Positive interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to cope with physical and emotional demands of a dynamic environment.

  • Experience with using everyday technology tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, voicemail and internet/intranet) to access, organize and store job-related information.
