UTHealth Houston’s Cizik School of Nursing is hiring for a Standardized Patient to join their team of professionals on a Casual (as needed) basis. The Standardized Patient will be given a script to learn of a patient with an undiagnosed medical condition. They will play this role for our students in an exam setting at the school. Acting skills are a plus, but not required. Must be okay with being physically examined (non-invasive). They must have the ability to memorize the key parts of the role and stay in character. Previous experience as a Standardized Patient is a plus! Must be 18+.

Position Summary:

Portrays medical illnesses and scenarios as part of training healthcare professionals.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Serves as a "practice patient" for clinical skills exams and/or procedures.

  2. Provides feedback to learners on the performance of their clinical skills.

  3. This position is project-based and the number of hours worked may vary.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
