The Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral SciencesofMcGovern Medical SchoolatUTHealth Houstonis seeking a part-time (50%) Psychiatrist to join our excellent faculty team at the newly opened John S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center at UTHealth Houston. Inpatient faculty enjoy a very low call volume, stable caseloads, and a robust collegial atmosphere that fosters collaboration and teamwork!

The position also provides exceptional teaching and supervisory opportunities to residents and medical students as a key training site for the McGovern Medical School and the UT Health Houston General Adult Psychiatry Residency Training program.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The faculty member will provide direct patient care on an inpatient unit at the John S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center, and will be expected to participate in the educational activities of the department, to include instructional leadership of medical students, residents and fellows.

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or equivalent degree;

  • Licensed or license eligible in the State of Texas;

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in general psychiatry, child & adolescent psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry or have completed an accredited training program in these specialty and sub-specialty areas in the United States

Qualified applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence, discovery and service, have potential to be outstanding in their field of expertise, and share an interest in fulfilling the common goals of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Experience or interest in research and/or education is preferred.

A faculty appointment at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor is available and offered depending upon the applicant’s qualifications and credentials. Salary levels are very competitive in addition to the excellent fringe benefit packages.
