UTHealth Houston School of Public Healthseeks applicants for two full-time tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level who are passionate aboutHealth Services Researchwith high impact on healthcare policy, health services delivery, health outcomes, comparative effectiveness research, socio-economic determinants of health, population health, and/or public health.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Establishing an externally funded research program focused on health services research.

  • Mentoring emerging scholars in health services research.

  • Teaching in MPH and/or doctoral programs.

  • Serving in institutional and external capacities.

Qualifications:

(1) an earned doctoral degree in health services research, health policy, public health, social science, or related fields; (2) a track record and/or strong promise of obtaining peer-reviewed funding and publications; (3) expertise in big data analysis, health services, health outcomes and health policy research; (4) commitment to excellence in teaching and advising graduate students; and (5) excellent written and oral communication skills. Successful candidates must be committed to working with all student and community populations.

Interested faculty should also have content expertise and teaching capabilities from among the following areas: policy sciences, quantitative or qualitative research methods, survey design, geographic information system methodologies, demography, big data analysis, healthcare payments systems, healthcare financing, health outcomes and quality of care research, and health IT. Our department is especially interested in professionals with survey design or geographic information systems training.
