McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston a leading academic health center, is seeking faculty members to join a dynamic group of physiatrists in theDepartment of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In partnership with TIRR Memorial Hermann and Memorial Hermann Hospital System, consistently ranked among the best rehabilitation hospitals in the U.S. News and World report.The department offers clinical, academic, and administrative opportunities. The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s mission to provide excellent rehabilitative services through advances in clinical care and the discovery of knowledge that promotes recovery, functional restoration, and community re-integration of individuals with limitations in function and activity participation due to injury or disease. Promoting collaborative efforts across health-related disciplines, supporting patient advocacy, and training future care providers and leaders in patient care and research.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Candidates should possess outstanding clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills, coupled with excellent administrative and organizational abilities. In addition to clinical and administrative duties, the position also requires teaching responsibilities such as teaching Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residents, fellows, medical students, and physical therapy students. Developing and sustaining an environment in the patient care units that support excellence and innovation in clinical practice and patient care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and standards that support positive patient care outcomes to include excellent risk-adjusted outcomes and serving as a role model in professional behavior and leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

  • Texas Medical License or ability to obtain a Texas Medical License

  • Qualified applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence, discovery, and service.
