Whether in a direct-care or support role, your contribution will make a difference in the life of a Texan.There are two PM positions available The Rehab Therapy Tech III performs moderately complex (journey-level) therapy work under the supervision of a clinically credentialed rehabilitation professional. Work involves providing habilitative and rehabilitative services for clients with mental impairments. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Will demonstrate/perform CPR, Treatment Intervention Protection and Strategies (TIPS) techniques correctly and safely, according to hospital standards and specifications presented in employee trainings.Essential Job Functions1. Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.2. Serve as a role model while conducting activities and engaging with patients in order to provide therapeutic interventions as prescribed by the treatment team.3. Compiles reports and documentation of patient progress to record information in order to improve quality of service delivery. Documentation includes treatment team sheets, weekly planners, goal progress sheets, and progress notes.4. Monitors program areas to ensure safe environment is maintained for patients and staff. May train others in this area.5. Procures and prepares materials for therapeutic activities in order to maintain an adequate supply and conduct activities as scheduled.6. Maintains work area and completes housekeeping specific to assigned area in order to provide a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.7. Escort patients to and from hospital activities and functions.8. Performs CPR, TIPS techniques correctly and safely, according to specifications taught in staff training.9. Other duties as assigned include but not limited to actively participatingand/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery of continuity of operations (coop) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or alternate locations.Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsNoneKnowledge Skills Abilities1. General understanding of treatment needs and therapeutic methods/techniques for rehabilitation of individuals with psychiatric illness2. Experience and/or training working with individuals who have psychiatric illnesses, substance abuse issues, and/or other special needs3. Experience and/or training leading group discussions or activities4. Understanding of continuous quality improvement5. Understanding and compliance with hospital policies and procedures6.
