Responsibilities

Sandy Pines Residential Treatment Center is a 149-bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is in beautiful South Florida, nestled beside Jonathan Dickinson State Park and just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. We are the largest treatment center of its kind in the southeast and host Riverbend Academy, an accredited school on our campus.

Summary

Organizes and conducts business offices operations in accordance with facility standards. Implements procedures for filing reimbursement claims and follow up. Maintains proper documentation with regard to cash receipts, revenue, census, bad debt, and contractual and administrative adjustments. Negotiates contracts with potential funding sources as requested. Verifies financial coverage of all patients after admission and coordinates initial financial contract if not done at the time of admission. Prepares and distributes all reports as required by facility and corporate policy.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in accounts receivable and business office, functions preferred, including experience with insurance companies and a working knowledge of insurance terms, rates, policies and reimbursement procedures preferred.

    Essential Duties / Performance Measurement Criteria

  • Maintains compliance in accordance with the federal and state law and corporate guidelines.

  • Files claims in a timely manner.

  • Reviews claims for accuracy prior to mailing.

  • Consistently reviews accounts and requests follow up documents in an efficient and thorough manner and identify any additional information needs. Inputs accurate and timely documentation into computer system.

  • Uses proper and effective account investigation analysis and settlement techniques.

  • Consistently follows up on problem delinquencies and makes determination in coordination with Controller for their proper disposition.

  • . Adjusts accounts according to contracted rate or when adjustments are administratively authorized on a monthly basis.

  • Communicates findings to appropriate departments to include dollar and time limitations based on information obtained and appropriateness of the case financially

  • Collaborates with managed care to establish out of contract or extra contractual benefits if benefits are not available under normal provisions of policy.
