Summary

Supervisor, Renewable Operations Center II Generation

As the Renewable Operations Center Supervisor in our Generation team, you will lead the day-to-day activities of your team, establish priorities for team activities and project completion, and ensure proper coordination for optimum reliability, availability, safety, efficiency and effectiveness. You and your team will work with a diverse portfolio of renewable generating facilities (including Solar, Energy Storage, and Micro-grid installations) within a 24/7 control center. You will coordinate emergency responses with other business units and external agencies and communicate company policy information and requirements to ensure operational decisions are in compliance. This role works in a high stress environment where decisions directly impact personnel safety and equipment reliability.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • A four-year Bachelors degree in an applicable technology area

  • Electric power, Electronics, Mechanics or Hydraulics from an accredited college or university

  • In lieu of bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and/or experience in solar and/or generation plant maintenance, construction and/or operations equaling eight (8) years.

  • PLUS four (4) years demonstrated experience in operations, maintenance and/or other job related experience.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts.

  • Knowledge of communication equipment.

    Preferred Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

  • Prior leadership experience.

  • Possess ability to implement strategic direction related to all aspects of renewable operations and reporting.

Major Accountabilities

  • Oversees the daily operation of the Renewable Operations Center (ROC) and operators. Resolves operational or technical issues within the unit.

  • Partners across disciplines within Operations, Engineering, Planning, Training and Compliance to ensure appropriate technical support, tools and actions are being provided to support renewable reliability and system stability.

  • Supports shift operators to ensure timely and accurate communications flow from the Renewable Operations Center to management and inter-company departments.

  • Selects and develops a high performing team through effective coaching, performance feedback, recognition, training and developmental opportunities.

  • Oversee in providing training to Renewable Operators in all areas of system operations. Assist in providing training assessments and evaluations.

  • Monitors expenditures of unit or area of responsibility ensuring prudent use of company money and resources.
