Enterprise Data team is leading the digital transformation journey within Microsoft Digital and we are looking for experienced software engineer(SWE) with strong technical skills in full stack development and ability to thrive in an agile world to help us achieve our bold goals. While serving our business partners with their data needs, we also focus on adopting to new technologies in mobile and cloud arena by evaluating products through continuous experimentation and driving feedback loops with various product groups.

Responsibilities

As an engineer on the data team, a person in this role will contribute with software and data engineering skills to contribute to our converged data foundation investments We are looking for an engineer to help us to automate our platform and service operation by working with a team of smart, agile, and intellectually curious engineers who create and build things that customers love. This is a team where you can learn a breadth of new technologies and grow as an engineer and leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with geographically distributed teams to deliver components of our enterprise data lake platform and services

  • Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills with both LT, engineering team, and wide array of partners and stakeholders

  • Strong individual leadership in both technical and non-technical areas

  • Provide technical guidance and system level design leadership.

  • Keep a razor focus on the usage/metrics of the platform services and be super customer focus.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Hands on experience with cloud tech stack for data like Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hub, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, et al

  • Expertise in SQL, Python/PySpark or Scala, and C# or similar

  • Experience in agile practices such as SCRUM orKanban.

  • Experience leading teams that maintain live services and\or application frameworks.

  • Strong and applied knowledge of Azure Cloud or other Cloud platform services.

  • Ability to communicate technical details clearly across organizational boundaries.

  • Experience with or exposure to Agile and iterative development processes.

  • Excellent analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design
