Job Summary:

Candidates must have a solid understanding of students with diverse learning needs and be skilled in effectively teaching them math. Proficiency with technology, including the Microsoft Office Suite, is essential. The ideal applicant will show a genuine passion for working with children through education. This teacher will collaborate with support staff and general education teachers, providing both academic and emotional support. Additionally, they will help students develop study skills and essential executive functioning skills such as planning, organization, and time management.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement instruction based upon student Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and curriculum requirements as assigned.
• Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers who have resource students in their classes about teaching, learning, behavior, and grading.
• Assist students with math intervention needs or those with other specific learning needs.
• Communicate as needed with families who have students enrolled in resource support.
• Utilize the services of the assigned aide to maximize individualized services to students.
• Monitor student progress weekly in all math classes.
• Participate in required staff meetings, events, and activities.
• Attend professional development workshops provided by Valley Christian Schools.
• Exercise open and respectful communication with students, families, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Adheres to and honors Valley Christians standards, policies, procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Performs other related assigned duties.

Requirements

• Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that serves as a consistent testimony to others
• Faithfully attend and provide financial support a local church that aligns with our school\'s beliefs
• Agree to uphold Valley Christians Statement of Faith as provided in this job posting
• Bachelor\'s Degree in Special Education from an accredited college is required
• Master\'s Degree and 3+ years teaching experience preferred
• Prior experience teaching math to students with diverse learning needs or in a special education setting.
• Attain ACSI Standard Certification within three years of employment
• Must have and maintain a valid level one IVP fingerprint card
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
• Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Ability to multitask with organization
• Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
• Must be able to work during prolonged periods of standing and walking at events
• Must be able to lift u p to 25 pounds at times
• Must be able to travel in state between campuses, to vendors, and to related events
