Fairleigh Dickinson University Lecturer of Criminology & Criminal Justice - Metro in Teaneck, New Jersey
This position reports to the Chair / Deputy Chair of the Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice. The lecturer will teach a 4-4 course load of required criminal justice courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. The program Chair / Deputy Chair will determine course assignments each semester in consultation with the lecturer. Courses may include, but will not be limited to, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Professional & Legal Writing, Criminal Justice Research Methods, and Criminal Justice Ethics.
The lecturer will also perform academic advising for students in the criminal justice major.
Teach four courses per semester in the undergraduate and graduate programs in criminal justice.
Advise criminal justice students prior to registration in the Fall and Spring.
Attend department meetings.
Attend Becton College faculty meetings.
Special projects as assigned.
PhD in criminal justice or closely related field, or an M.A. plus several years of field experience in a criminal justice profession.
Prior college level teaching experience.
The lecturer must be a generalist who can teach a broad range of topics in the discipline.
Field experience and/or research experience in criminal justice highly preferred.
