Fairleigh Dickinson University Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Pharmacy Practice (tenure-track) in Teaneck, New Jersey

Job Summary:

Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant / Associate/Full Professor of Pharmacy Practice within the Department of Pharmacy Practice. The FDU School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences endeavors to prepare pharmacists who will provide patient-centered care, advance the pharmacy profession through research and patient and public health advocacy, as well as serve as future health care leaders. The School promotes active participation of faculty, staff and students in clinical practice, community outreach, patient and public health advocacy as hallmarks of the pharmacy program. FDU School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers an integrated curriculum that seeks to develop pharmacy practitioners who are able to effectively communicate with diverse populations and work as integral members of interprofessional health care teams. Further, the School offers a concurrent Master’s degree program to qualified pharmacy students.

The faculty position is a full-time, School-based (non-clinical site-based), 12-month tenure track appointment. Faculty members are expected to support the FDU School of Pharmacy vision through teaching in the professional pharmacy curriculum, developing a research agenda within their discipline and providing service to the School of Pharmacy and University at large.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Have a PharmD degree with residency or fellowship training in a clinical field (2-year post-graduate training is strongly preferred). Additional experience in a pharmacy academic or clinical setting is highly desirable. Preferred applicants would have broad expertise area to be able to teach various pharmacy practice-related courses within the didactic curriculum;

  2. Show a desire to participate in expanding new educational platforms, including integration of technology and active learning;

  3. Demonstrate understanding of academic pharmacy, experiential education, and ACPE accreditation standards related to curriculum and experiential education;

  4. Demonstrate leadership and initiative in supporting School’s assessment and accreditation efforts;

  5. Be prepared to develop an advanced curriculum which integrates the Doctor of Pharmacy degree with specialized Master’s programs;

  6. Have a vision for the future of pharmacy education as a global enterprise;

  7. Develop a personal philosophy and program of teaching, research and service focused on enriching students and enhancing the profession;
